CH. Rocky's Story

Looking at the picture of this beautiful Pom, with his wonderful looks, who would think that his life would change, and in such a drastic way.

Here Rocky is at 13 months. Did you know some BSD/SHL sufferers go through a normal looking 1 year shed. Rocky did.

CH. Rocky continues to suffer though his thyroid level is up to normal and has been for a year. He is neutered of course and is on a medication approved for the treatment of canine Pituitary Dependent Hyperadrenocorticism. He has been on this medication for slightly over two months with little change. There is possibly some lessening of the "fear" reaction --fight or flight--that he developed at the same time as the hair loss began. When he gets upset he bites at the remaining hair on his legs and feet. This is hardly "just a cosmetic problem."
